Sketchbook - July 15 2012

I bought some new mechanical pencils last night and spent a while trying them out. This was the first time in what seems like ages that I've drawn like this, and I really enjoyed myself. It felt good to take my time, as well as focus on smoothing out my linework. I'd like to do things like this more often.

It's exciting. Since sketching these I've been thinking a lot about all of the other drawings I'd like to do. It's a chain reaction, I'm sure; making art inspires more art. I'm looking forward to keeping this up.

It's unfortunate though, that I have such a large sketchbook. Scanning these in takes time and the final digital image doesn't really turn out that pleasing.

Oh well.
